Nearshore dredging to renourish beaches – Port Isabel-South Padre Press

Shoreline Management Director Brandon Hill provided an update on the Shoreline Master Plan as well as the nearshore berm nourishment project during the Monday, May 7 meeting of the SPI Shoreline Task Force. He also announced that a community feedback survey was recently concluded, and that one-on-one stakeholder interviews are scheduled to take place May 17 20. A survey results presentation is scheduled for May 21.

Regarding the nearshore berm nourishment project, Hill shared that the Hopper Dredge McFarland arrived on April 27, and is scheduled to take about 45 days to complete its operation. Hill previously explained that, unlike traditional ....
